The Kronkelpad is a socially innovative cycling experience that takes you on a journey through the unique nature of the Kempen region, developed in collaboration with four municipalities in the Kempen, South Brabant.
By deviating from the usual route, the Kronkelpaden introduce you to different perspectives. While winding along the path, you can daydream and get lost in your own thoughts, or reflect and arrive at new insights.
In addition, the Kronkelpaden challenge your senses. As you wind along the route, you are encouraged to consciously experience and feel the remarkable nature around you.
The combination of enriching both thoughts and senses creates multiple layers within the concept. This makes the route appealing and accessible to a broad group of visitors, including both local residents and tourists.
The Kronkelpoort is the recognizable starting and ending point of a Kronkelpad, visible from a distance so cyclists can easily see where the path begins. All objects are produced locally.
The experiential elements woven into the path are unique for each municipality. The Wild-growth Hills are the first of these to be realized. The design centers on the connection between humans and nature. The shape of the hills is a nod to De Ploeg, designed by Gerrit Rietveld in Bergeijk.
Now that the first Kronkelpad can be experienced, the other municipalities will soon follow, expanding the network of Kronkels.
