Kronkelpad is a socially innovative cycling experience that reveals the unique nature of the Kempen region in a new way. Developed with four municipalities in South Brabant, this winding path is an immersive journey that engages both the senses and the mind.
By deviating from the conventional linear paths, it opens new perspectives, encouraging reflection and a closer connection to the natural surroundings, for locals and visitors alike.
A Kronkelpoort marks the start and end of each Kronkelpad, visible from a distance as a signal that the journey is about to begin or end. Every element is locally produced, rooting the path in the region’s craftsmanship and identity.
The first Kronkelpad features Wild-Growth Hills, a design inspired by connection between people and nature. It’s form is a quiet homage to De Ploeg, Gerrit Rietveld’s iconic Bergeijk building (now a home of Bloom and Bruns).
Bloom managed the project’s realization by coordinating with local partners and municipalities to bring the design and construction together on site. As more municipalities join, the Kronkelpad network will continue grows, inviting cyclists to explore the Kempen region one winding path at a time.
